Gretchen Peters inducted into Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame

Gretchen PetersCongratulations to Gretchen Peters, who, it was announced yesterday has been inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Songwriters Hall of Famer Pat Alger, who chairs the Hall of Fame’s Board of Directors, said “Here in Nashville where the music industry has always been built on a foundation of great songs written by legendary songwriters, each year only a few are elected to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. This year we are very pleased to welcome the class of 2014: Tom Douglas and Gretchen Peters in the songwriter category; Paul Craft in the veteran songwriter category; and John Anderson as our songwriter/artist.”

Gretchen said after the announcement, “I’m rarely at a loss, but this is truly overwhelming. This morning the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame announced its 2014 inductees, and I am honored beyond words to be among them.”

The four will be officially inducted on Sunday, Oct. 5, during the 44th Anniversary Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Dinner & Induction Ceremony.

Peters is set to release the followup to 2012’s ‘Hello Cruel World’ in early 2015.
